February 2017

With a friend we came to Merzouga by bus. We wanted to spend a night in the desert and ride camels. What a wonderful discovery we made. Accompanied by two camel drivers, we left by camel in the desert to spend the night in an oasis. Sunset, starry and enchanted night, sunrise... all this rocked by the Berber culture (songs, stories, jokes, life...).
This experience was only happiness. Thank you to the Chameliers. We will come back incha allah

Highlights overview

Ait Ben Haddou

Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah is the first attraction to visit from Marrakech. It is a Unesco World Heritage Site where berber touaregs used to trade and stop when traveling from Tomboctou.

Ouarzazate

Ouarzazate is a Moroccan city in the south of the country. Its name is derived from a Berber term that means “without noise” or “without confusion”; it is a city with a thriving cultural and creative legacy.

Ouarzazate is a popular tourist destination in Morocco, having a great number of hotels. The population is estimated to be around 38 thousand people. It is frequently visited by visitors on their way to the Sahara Desert. The majority of them stop here to resupply for their journey to the Great Deserts.

Merzouga (Erg Chebbi) is a desert town in Morocco.

The Sahara, one of Africa’s greatest natural wonders, is right in front of you, not just in a geography textbook. The white light of the desert and the dunes of various colors of yellow can now be seen beyond the horizon. Of course, the scale is impressive: the dunes appear to go on forever.

In the Sahara, you can only travel with a group, not on your own. This is done mostly for visitor safety. During the journey, you will sample traditional desert cuisine, listen to authentic Berber songs and music, and learn about their way of life and culture. The balloon journey, as well as the ride across the enormous dunes on quad bikes, skis, or snowboards, will be unforgettable! You can even spend the night in the desert in a unique tent, appreciating the light of the faraway stars.
