Itinerary

1

Day 1: Agadir - Ourazazate

Start our 4 Days Desert Tour From Agadir in the morning, passing through Taliouine, Taznakht, and Taroudant, frequently referred to as “Little Marrakech.” The route continues to the Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, one of Morocco’s nine UNESCO World Heritage sites and the country’s most well-known Kasbah. Visit the Kasbah and ascend to the summit for a sweeping panorama after lunch in the village. Only a few kilometers away is the small village of Ouarzazate, where you will stay the night in a riad.

2

Day 2: Ouarzazate - Merzouga Desert

We travel in the morning from Ouarzazate to the Toudgha gorges through Skoura, where we will go off-road to visit the Kasbahs, some of which are sadly in ruins but are beautifully located among many palm trees in this charming oasis. The most famous of these Kasbahs, Amredhil, is worth a quick visit and a photo stop. The Valley of Roses, where roses are distilled into oils, lotions, and creams, is traversed along the main route.

The next place to visit is the Dades Valley, which has beautiful rock formations and lush gardens by the river. We stop for lunch in the Toudgha Gorges. We proceed to the Erg Chebbi dunes (250m) after a two-hour camel ride to the Merzouga dunes. From the top of the dunes, the sunset is breathtaking. You eat and sleep in an opulent tent with king-sized beds, exquisite Moroccan furnishings, a private bathroom, and lamps that are skillfully positioned to enhance your appreciation of the peace and beauty of the dunes.

Day 3: Merzouga - Agdez

If you rise early enough, you might be able to witness the sunrise, when the dancing shadows and the color of the dunes create an amazing scene. The trip proceeds to Morocco’s longest valley, the Dra’a Valley, after breakfast. We make lunch stops in Tazzarine, N’Qob, Rissani, and Alnif.
The journey takes us across the Dra’a River, which is occasionally a raging torrent and other times hardly a trickle, to Tansikht in the afternoon. Here, we turn left and head north, passing through the valley with its enormous palm palms and historical settlements along the ancient trade route. Towards the end of the afternoon, we arrive in Agdz for dinner and a night’s stay.

Day 4: Agdez to Agadir

From Agdz, we go northwest to Taznakht, which is renowned for its Berber carpets and glims. On the way, we go through breathtaking scenery and the Bouazzer mines. This area of the nation is more isolated and off the beaten path. Next, we cross the Tizi-n-Ikhsane and Tizi-n-Tighatine passes on our way west to Agadir.
We take a lunch break in Taliouine, the center of Morocco’s saffron-growing region, where a superb little museum honoring the craft of saffron farming is located. The road returns us to Taroudant in the afternoon, where we travel back to Agadir by late afternoon, following the frequently dry Souss River and innumerable argan trees on all the high slopes. Your four-day excursion from Agadir to Merzouga begins at around 18:00.

  1. Tania

We went on a four-day tour with Trips Around Morocco from Agadir to Merzouga, and it was the best experience we could have had. Mustapha, our guide, gave us a thorough explanation of the Berber and Arabic cultures, giving us the impression that we had actually traveled to Morocco. The tour was highly recommended. Many thanks, Tours of Morocco.

  2. Alma

Everything went flawlessly when my partner and I traveled to Morocco with Trips Around Morocco. Mohamed drove us on a four-day tour from Agadir to Merzouga, and he exceeded our expectations. He allows us enough of time to pause and take in the sights, and he is a great gentleman. Mohamed, who is a nomad, took us to eat with his family, and everything was excellent. We’ll do it once more with all of you!

  3. Antoyo

It was the best trip we could have hoped for! The program was well-paced, the personnel was kind, and everything was perfectly organized. The highlights were the camel ride and the sunset over the dunes. With delectable Moroccan cuisine and kind service, the camp was warm and genuine. Undoubtedly a must-do activity in Morocco!

  4. Agoda

Everything was fantastic from beginning to end. With entertaining stories and music, our guide made the lengthy drives fun. I will always remember that night under the stars in the desert. The Berber music around the fire provided a beautiful mood, the meal was delicious, and the tents were opulent. I heartily suggest this tour to anyone traveling to Morocco!
