This 2-day desert tour from Fes travels through the Middle Atlas Mountains and ends at the Sahara Desert! Here’s a preview of what to anticipate:
Take a cruise through the quaint towns of Zaida, Midelt, Erfoud, and Ifrane, which is renowned for its unexpected Swiss-style architecture. Every city has its own distinct character, from busy marketplaces to relaxed cafes. You might even find some interesting fossils to take home as mementos from Erfoud!
What’s the major draw of this 2-day desert tour from Fes? An amazing camel ride through the stunning dunes of the Merzouga Desert. As the sun sets and casts long shadows on the sand, you’ll feel as though you’ve traveled to another planet. Savor a delicious meal under the stars, spend the night in a typical Berber camp, and wake up to a stunning daybreak in the desert.

Drive through the Middle Atlas Mountains after leaving Fes. Meet the Barbary macaques in the cedar forest and visit Azrou’s Berber bazaar. Proceed into the Ziz Valley, where the river is bordered by palm trees. Arrive in Merzouga, on the edge of the Sahara, and take a quad tour or sunset camel ride to your desert camp. Savor dinner and spend the evening outside.
Get up early so you may see the dawn over the dunes before returning to Fes. After lunch in Midelt, proceed through Immouzer du Kandar, renowned for its chilly environment and cave homes, and Ifrane, dubbed the “Switzerland of Morocco.” Get to Fes by nightfall.

Camel rides in Merzouga are awesome, so don't worry! Like any other animal, these relaxed creatures are quite safe to ride. You'll have an amazing time traveling through the desert if you pay attention to what your guide says!
In Morocco, tipping is not required. A little tip is a great way to express your gratitude to someone who provides excellent service!
The car you use for this tour depends on how many people are in your group. They usually have big Toyota Land Cruisers, vans, or comfy minibusses.

The two-day excursion from Fes met all of my expectations, even though I wasn’t sure what to anticipate! Along the journey, we made stops in cedar forests and little villages; in Azrou, we even fed the local wild monkeys. With hot showers, delicious meals, and welcoming hosts, the desert camp was comfortable and well-run. The night sky was breathtaking, and the camel ride was quite serene. Even though it’s a long drive, each stop is worthwhile. One of my favorite travel experiences!

Fes’ two-day desert trek was fantastic! Our driver was kind and informed, and the journey through the Atlas Mountains and the Ziz Valley was amazing. The camel ride at sunset was undoubtedly the highlight; it was amazing to watch the colors shift across the dunes. Under the starlight, there was live drumming, delectable food, and a tidy and cozy Berber camp. It was the ideal conclusion to wake up to the sunrise above the sand dunes. I heartily suggest this tour to anyone traveling to Morocco!

The best part of our trip to Morocco was this two-day desert tour from Fes! Mountains, palm valleys, and endless dunes were all part of the ever-changing landscape. The camp had a movie-like atmosphere, and our guide told us interesting tales about Berber culture. It was quite magical to see the sunrise and sunset over the dunes. The team made the trip easy and unforgettable by attending to every little detail. Without a doubt, I would do it all over again!
