In a brief but remarkable trip, this 2-day Desert Tour From Fes To Marrakech encapsulates the spirit of Morocco. It combines the allure of historic cities, the splendor of the Atlas Mountains, and the enchantment of the Sahara Desert. Before traveling south toward the desert, visitors are engrossed in centuries of culture, vibrant souks, and stunning architecture at Fes, one of Morocco‘s oldest imperial capitals.
The 2-day Desert Tour from Fes to Marrakech takes place in the Middle Atlas Mountains, where Barbary macaques live in cedar forests that are traversed by torturous roads. The countryside is dotted with traditional Berber communities that provide a glimpse into the real rural life of Morocco. As the voyage progresses, the landscape changes to the valleys and palm groves of the Ziz area, signaling the arrival of the huge Sahara.
The golden sands that spread to the horizon welcome visitors to Merzouga, the entrance to the Erg Chebbi dunes. The colors of the desert change as the sun sets, making a sunset camel ride across the dunes a spectacular experience. Enjoy warm hospitality, delectable Moroccan food, lively drumming, and an endless starry sky while spending the night in a typical Berber desert camp.
The next morning starts with an amazing sunrise above the dunes and continues through the verdant Dades Valley and the striking Todra Gorges. Before reaching the energetic city of Marrakech, the trip across the High Atlas Mountains offers expansive views and constantly shifting scenery.

Traveling via the Middle Atlas Mountains, set off early from Fes. Travel through Ifrane and the Azrou cedar trees, where Barbary monkeys are frequently spotted. Proceed south via the Ziz Valley, which offers views of the desert and palm plantations. Arrive in Merzouga in the afternoon, then ride camels to your desert camp across Erg Chebbi’s beautiful dunes. Savor a traditional meal, Berber music, and a starry night in the middle of the Sahara.
After getting up early to see the dawn over the dunes, head to the tent for breakfast. Drive through the Dades Valley and Todra Gorges, pausing for lunch and pictures. After passing the well-known Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, proceed across the High Atlas Mountains. Reach Marrakech by nightfall, when your incredible desert journey concludes.

You must pay a small fee in advance to reserve your place on the tour. You can use a bank transfer or PayPal, so it's simple. What a wonderful encounter! Every moment was full of adventure and breathtaking beauty, from Fes to Marrakech. The dinner was excellent, the camp in the desert was tidy and cozy, and the night was enhanced by the Berber music played around the fire. I will always remember seeing the sunrise over the dunes. The best part of our trip to Morocco was this brief excursion into the desert. The camel ride across the Erg Chebbi dunes was the highlight of the excursion from Fes to Merzouga, which was filled with amazing views. Our driver always had time for pictures and made sure we were comfortable. Warm, friendly, and ideally situated, the desert camp surpassed our expectations. Completely worthwhile!

The two-day desert trip from Fes to Marrakech will never be forgotten! Seeing the Barbary monkeys close to Azrou was a true delight, and the trip over the Atlas Mountains was breathtaking. Spending the night in the desert tent beneath a starry sky was pure delight, and the camel ride at sunset in Merzouga was just beautiful. Our guide was amiable and informed, and everything was well-organized. I heartily suggest this excursion!
