1 Night Camel Trekking in Merzouga
A night of Camel Trekking in Merzouga is one of the most memorable experiences for travelers visiting Morocco. To enjoy the full desert journey and catch the golden sunset over the dunes, guests usually arrive two hours before sunset.
Your adventure begins with a camel ride across the soft sands of Erg Chebbi. Along the way, your camel guide will make several stops so you can take photos and enjoy the views. As the colors of the dunes change with the light, you continue toward the desert camp.
Upon arrival at the luxury camp, you will be welcomed with a traditional Moroccan dinner. Afterward, the evening comes alive with a warm fire and Berber drumming under a sky full of stars.
The next morning, you may return to the meeting point by camel or choose a 4×4 transfer.
2 Nights Camel Trekking in Merzouga
The two-night trekking experience offers everything included in the one-night trip, plus a full desert exploration on the second day.
After spending your first night in the camp, the next morning is dedicated to discovering life in the Sahara. The day begins with a visit to the National Auto Museum, known for its impressive collection of classic 4×4 vehicles. The journey continues to Khamlia, a small village famous for its Gnawa musicians.
From there, the route leads to M’Ifiss, an area that once hosted kohl mines during the French administration. You will also meet Berber nomads who still live in traditional tents. Lunch is shared with the nomadic family, an authentic moment that reveals the true spirit of desert life.
In the afternoon, you visit panoramic viewpoints and the desert oasis before returning to your camp or hotel.
3 Nights “Nomad Trek” – Camel Expedition Across Erg Chebbi
This extended camel trekking adventure is designed for travelers who want a deeper experience of desert life.
The trek begins after lunch (depending on your arrival time). Camels are loaded with all essentials, food, blankets, and supplies, before setting off across the dunes. Your first night will be spent at a small oasis, where a traditional dinner and a night under a clear sky await you.
The next morning, after breakfast, you ride for about two hours toward the Tamaris area, where you stop for lunch under the shade of a tamarisk tree. Later, the caravan continues to a Tuareg family home, where you spend the second night and share time with the family.
The third day takes you deeper into the dunes toward another oasis. After a relaxed lunch stop, you arrive at the place where the third night is spent with a Berber nomadic family. The evening includes a campfire gathering and traditional music.
