Your adventure begins in Casablanca, Morocco’s economic capital. Visit the impressive Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest in the world, beautifully located by the Atlantic Ocean. Afterward, continue to Rabat, the political capital, where you’ll explore the Royal Palace, Hassan Tower, and the charming Kasbah of the Udayas.

In the afternoon, travel through the fertile plains toward Fes, the country’s oldest imperial city. Arrive in the evening and check into your riad for dinner and overnight stay.

2

Day 2: Exploring Fes – The Spiritual Heart of Morocco

After breakfast, spend the day discovering Fes, the spiritual and cultural capital of Morocco. Walk through the ancient medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, filled with narrow alleys, colorful souks, and centuries-old architecture.

Visit the Bou Inania Madrasa, Al Karaouine University (the oldest in the world), and the Chouara Tannery, where leather is still dyed using traditional methods. End the day at one of Fes’s panoramic viewpoints overlooking the entire old city.

3

Day 3: Fes – Ifrane – Midelt – Merzouga Desert

After breakfast, depart from Fes and head south toward the Sahara Desert. Pass through Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco,” and the cedar forests of Azrou, home to Barbary macaque monkeys. Continue through the Middle Atlas Mountains to Midelt for lunch.

In the afternoon, cross the Ziz Valley with its vast palm groves before arriving in Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara. Here, your camel awaits for a trek across the Erg Chebbi dunes at sunset. Spend the night in a desert camp, enjoying a traditional dinner and Berber music under a sky full of stars.

Day 4: Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley

Wake up early to witness a breathtaking sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, ride camels back to the village, where your driver will be waiting. Visit the traditional market in Rissani, known for its local crafts and date products.

Continue your journey toward the Todra Gorges, a spectacular canyon with towering cliffs popular among rock climbers and photographers. In the afternoon, travel to the Dades Valley, where you’ll stay overnight in a beautiful riad overlooking the river.

Day 5: Dades Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou – Marrakech

After breakfast, drive along the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, passing traditional Berber villages and green oases. Stop at Ouarzazate, often called the “Hollywood of Africa,” to visit Taourirt Kasbah and the local film studios.

Continue to Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its ancient clay architecture and as a filming location for many movies. Cross the High Atlas Mountains through the scenic Tizi N’Tichka Pass, arriving in Marrakech by evening.
